I started watching later. How long does menopause last? How do you know when you became post menopausal?

Hi, Chris. just curious your take on programs such as Shakeology and if you find programs like those, with those products incorporated in them, necessary and helpful or is good old exercise and good healthy diet just as good?

My doctor is taking me off Birth control to see where I am in menopause or if I have entered it. What advice can you give for someone to help ease the transition into menopause. I am so afraid of this.

I don’t think I workout within the fat burning heart rate range. How important is it to be within the range to lose weight? I typically get more than 10,000 steps in a day and maybe one Zumba class a week. Thank you.

In the past you have said you eat plain Greek yogurt because the flavored varieties have too much sugar. In your opinion how much sugar is “too much sugar” when you are reviewing food labels?

    Hi Chris,
I love having smoothies for breakfast but have read that using so much fruit is just as bad as eating sugar. I never bought into this because fruit is good for you, but I have noticed that working out six days a week and eating clean has not sped up my metabolism much. I only wanted to lose five pounds but it seems to be going very slow. Could my daily smoothie be the culprit. They usually are between 300-400 calories and I use it as a meal replacement.

Are you familiar with SlimROAST coffee (for weight management)? I have a friend who has been drinking a cup a day for many months with great weightloss (and inch loss) success. Just wanted to get your opinion…esp. with long-term success.

I am interested in how to get back into shape after regaining weight that I gained after a stroke. I am fine now, but between the meds and a good bout of self pity, the weight came back. How to begin again? Where to start? A simple walking plan! Planks every morning? Is there a good vitamin or mineral that helps tissues stay strong and supple? Lots of water? Ugh, so many facets to all this!

I have been working out consistently for the past six months and I’m only seeing very minimal results. I’m thinking the problem is that I only do light exercise, mainly pilates, which I do 4-5 times a week, but I only workout anywhere from 10 min. to 30 min. My issue is that if I start doing anything more strenuous (especially cardio) I get extremely fatigued for the new few days and can’t workout. I have adrenal issues and I believe that prevents me from really hitting it hard. I feel like I’m in a catch 22. Any advice?

Hi Chris! I’m curious about target heart rates. How important is it to stay within the targeted zone for weight loss?

    Reply
    • Customer Service

Hi, Laurie. Great question! Using your target heart rate zone really helps you to stay motivated and push yourself to stick within that range. I prefer monitors with the strap for better accuracy, and although they may not be exact they do give you a good gauge at the rate your working at. With that being said if you don’t have your heart rate monitor with you, don’t despair- workout until your slightly breathless or it’s hard to hold a conversation. That’s an easy way to tell if you are working hard enough!

Hi Chris! Not sure if i will be able to watch live, but wonder if you could answer a question. I’m 53, have been exercising for years (with 5-8lb weights). I have some arthritis in my neck, which causes stiffness and pain in my trapezoids and sometimes my mid/low back as well. Is heavier weight work beneficial for my upper body? What are your suggestions for balancing upper vs. lower body workouts to avoid exacerbating neck/back issues? Some of your upper body workouts are a serious challenge for me, although I’m still attempting to use 10lb. weights at times.

In your July segment you mentioned that there is going to be a smoothie e-book. I came across the 6-Minute Smoothies E-book. Is that the one you were talking about or is there a newer version e-book? When will your smoothies e-book be coming out?
    Thanks Linda
