    While do a lunge, are you pushing up with your back leg? Or, are you pressing up with your front leg?

      Hi Barbara. Great question!
      There are different kinds of lunges: stationary, forward lunges, backward lunges…. and in each of them the focus will be slightly different. However, generally speaking you want to PRIMARILY use the front leg for work and the back leg for stability. You are always going to be using both legs, but focus on the front glute by pressing through the front heel the most.
