Kickboxing is one of our favorite ways to get straight-up, solid cardio benefits without all the impact and joint pounding of running or other challenging cardio workouts. Kickboxing is a workout that requires your entire body to be engaged throughout all moves.
You’ll learn to keep your belly pulled in, shoulders pulled back and legs and glutes squeezed the entire time you work. Every move requires focus and concentration, but the results are amazing! You are guaranteed to shred those extra calories and sweat off anything left over!
But wait-there’s more! Not only does this Kickboxing Core workout give you an amazing cardio workout but you’ll also get a steady dose of core strength woven into the mix. GHU Trainer Shelley Hawkins along with Sam Cam and Shea will guide you through five easy-to-follow circuits.
Each circuit contains two moves: one kickboxing and one core. Each move lasts 40 seconds and you’ll repeat each circuit 3 times. Yup, that’s pretty much it- 10 moves and you’ve got yourself a simple but effective workout all in 45 minutes. Kickboxing can be a challenge to follow when too many moves are pieced together. Not this workout!
You’ll start off with athletic-based warm-up to get your joints and connective tissue ready for action. Then you’re off to the races with your first kickboxing moves, starting with jabs and squats. 40 seconds later you’ll drop to the mat and get going on the core. Seriously, you have to give this one a try!
