The number one body part people want to tone is their abs. And the answer to strong and toned abs is not 3,000 crunches. What you need is focused instruction with quality exercises that move in a controlled manner and that is what we call Pilates. It’s slow, controlled, graceful yet powerful and effective. If you’ve never done Pilates before, settle in and focus during these 30 minutes of exercise.

This workout will concentrate on strengthening your back and ab muscles while improving your flexibility and balance. Chris will take you through this workout consisting of the traditional Pilates exercises. She will educate you along the way and boy will you feel your core muscles.

The exercises provided are both approachable yet challenging. Joseph Pilates said that when doing Pilates, “It’s not what you see that matters, it’s what you can’t see happening that matters.” Pilates is controlled and to the onlooker it may not look hard until you start to actually do the workout with our trainers.

Chris will remind you to pay attention to your body and how you feel as you practice. A burn is okay, a little fire is good, but pain is not! If you feel your hip flexors tighten or your neck hurt, put your feet down or lay your head back. There is no shame in the modify game! The beauty of this practice is the way it sneaks up on you. This 30-minute Pilates mat workout is one you can revisit time and time again.
